Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated operator to join our team.
The water operator's position includes operating and maintaining water treatment and distribution systems to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality drinking water to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have good mechanical skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Key
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain water treatment and distribution systems in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
Monitor water quality parameters and perform routine water quality sampling and testing.
Conduct regular inspections of treatment facilities, pumps, valves, and distribution lines to identify and address any issues or potential problems.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
Maintain accurate records of water usage, chemical dosages, equipment maintenance, and other relevant data.
Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in emergency response activities, including responding to water main breaks, leaks, and other incidents.
Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient and effective operation of water systems.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in water treatment or related field preferred.
Experience working in water treatment or distribution operations preferred but applicants with plumbing, electrical, utility construction or HVAC experience will be considered.
Ability to operate and maintain water treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and other related systems.
Ability to perform heavy lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, standing for long periods of time.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
